Director of Sports Medicine/ Head Athletic Trainer

Buena Vista University is seeking candidates for the Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer responsible for the overall management of athletic training room operations with oversight of sports medicine coverage for 21 varsity sports. Responsibilities include coordinating the care, prevention, and treatment of athletic injuries for student-athletes. Arrange for injury and illness treatment by team physicians and other medical personnel as necessary. Maintain complete, accurate, and detailed medical records and work with the secondary insurance company. Supervise three full-time associate/assistant athletic trainers, part-time athletic trainers, and any student interns. Coordinate and schedule clinical assignments; practice, contest, and general athletic training room coverage.

The position receives 8 weeks of time off annually, $6,000 signing bonus, and generous five-year retention bonus.
